Abstract

In this article we present the synthesis of three-dimensionally ordered ternary BC2N crystals produced under hightemperature and high-pressure conditions. Unit cell dimensions are a 5 2.4820 6 0.0007 Å and c 5 6.620 6 0.003 Å. The composition BC2N is derived from Vegard’s law and quantitative electron energy loss spectroscopy. The ordered arrangement of atoms in the unit cell is discussed.
