Kurzbeschreibung (Abstract)
This paper presents our implementation of a video widget, based on the X video extension. The video widget gives an easy access to video media using the abstractions of the X Toolkit like resources, translations, actions and callbacks. We give an overview to the goals of our development, look at existing video solutions based on the X Window System in the workstation domain and give a brief description of both the architecture and implementation of the video widget. Finally, applications and future developments are presented.
