The Sun and its Impact on Thermal Analysis in Buildings: Physical Simulation and Visualization (1994).
Graphics and Modelling in Science & Technology. Proceedings.
Konferenzveröffentlichung, Bibliographie

Kurzbeschreibung (Abstract)

A two-pass solution towards a global evaluation of energy in building's envelope due to the solar influence is presented. The work brings together, on the one hand, the disciplines and techniques involved in Comuter Graphics and Thermal Engineering, and on the other hand, its concern to highlight concrete tools or techniques from one of both disciplines that could be advantageous applied to the other. Highlights include the contribution of the sun and sky radiation, and the surrounding environment through the multiple diffuse reflections as well as the contribution of glazed facades by means of specular reflexions analysis. Realistic rendering is supported by an underlying physical formalism focused on the involved thermal phenomena. The generation of high quality rendered scenes and the ability to navigate through the virtual environment is also emphasized once it allows a better way towards spatial and temporal data analysis. This will be exemplified by the case of a detailed example.
