PHI-Factory: Provision of Network Services by a Flexible Factory.
International ETG Congress 2017. Bonn, Germany (28.11.2017-29.11.2017)
Konferenzveröffentlichung, Bibliographie

Kurzbeschreibung (Abstract)

The rising share of renewable energy sources leads to increased volatility in terms of power production within the electrical power grid. Certain measures need to be taken to ensure the reliable operation of the power grid. The use of flexibility within the industrial sector concerning the electrical power demand is one possible solution for this problem. The feasibility of this concept will be shown in the research project PHI-Factory and first results will be presented in this paper. First, a brief motivation for the usage of flexibility within the industrial sector is given. This is followed by the description of the current configuration of the PHI-Factory and planned extensions that enable the testing of flexibility measures in a real environment. As a conclusion, first results of the project showing stakeholders and their interests as well as the expected impact of the flexibility measures on grid operation are presented. Finally, an outline of the next steps of the project is given.
