Kurzbeschreibung (Abstract)

Increasing number of handheld gadgets include electrostatic/polymer/piezoelectric actuators and other components which require high voltage and low power for their operation. These devices are usually powered from a single low voltage (often battery) source. To operate these functional material based actuators, in-systems voltage conversion is required. Functional materials require high voltage but the required current is in range of μA to few mA. A DC-DC converter is presented in this work which reduces the inductor volume, improves the efficiency and does not require gate driver circuit for the transistors while supplying a high output voltage and low output current.
