Analysis of Parking Behavior and its Interaction with Mode Choice of Motorists in Large Cities of Emerging Countries.

Kurzbeschreibung (Abstract)
The understanding of parking behavior is necessary to take effective parking management measure, the useful instrument in traffic management. In this paper, the qualitative method was use to find out the parking behavior of motorist in Hanoi. After reviewing some research about parking behavior study, the behavior of parking user in choosing the parking location and its influencing were analyzed. Subsequently, environmental development and traffic situation were assessed. After that, the data collection process war conducted before deciding on analysis method. The finding of this research was that the respond of parking user group to select the parking location under the effects of parking condition were described. Moreover, among many factors, such as parking price, parking duration, searching and queuing time, which affect on parking behavior of Hanoi motorist, the regulation became the most influencing factor on this behavior. The ranking of important factor to impel the travelers changing their mode decision was done. After that, the parking management measures related to parking rule, parking price, parking duration of traveler were given recommendation Key Words: parking behavior, influencing factors, parking management measure
