Lubrication of Cold Forging Tools with Single Layer Lubricants.
In: Proceedings of the ICFG Plenary Meeting, 46
Artikel, Bibliographie
Kurzbeschreibung (Abstract)
The paper will present results from a bulk metal forming tribometer, the Sliding Compression Test, which reveal the high impact of remaining lubricant on the friction coefficient. In addition to a conventional lubrication of the billets, the tools also can be lubricated. This leads to a further decrease of the friction. Furthermore, tests with lubricated rough tool surfaces have shown no more adhesion. With lubricated tools, additional lubricant is on the dies of the production process. Hence, it should allow higher sliding distances of multistage processes. At the end of the paper, a continuative approach will be presented, which avoids the complex lubrication of the specimens by limiting the coating to the tool and testing the clean specimen.
