Kurzbeschreibung (Abstract)

Since its discovery by Ieda and coworkers, the crossover of the surface-potential decays of polymers has attracted considerable attention. The effect is most prominent in corona-charged polyethylene (PE) films where it has been confirmed by a number of laboratories. Recent experiments have shown that crossovers occur also in at least one other polymer - namely Teflon PTFE - and that the effect is equally well produced by liquid-contact charging instead of corona charging.
