Prefabrication of buildings is a wide-spread practice in the American building industry, especially in the residential sector – in contrast, green buildings are usually individually designed and constructed. This forms a major reason for higher costs of green building. The development of green modular construction methods bears a considerable potential to saving costs and fulfilling customer demands.
