Abstract

This work deals with the implementation of electrically tunable split-ring resonators (SRRs) by means of ferroelectric materials. A multilayered substrate including barium-strontium titanate (BST) is employed to realize a stopband structure based on a microstrip transmission line loaded with SRRs. The resonance frequency of the SRRs can be modified by changing the distributed capacitance between the two rings forming the resonator by means of a tuning voltage which modifies the dielectric permittivity of the ferroelectric layer.
