Finite Element Simulation of the Common-Mode Flux in Inverted-fed Induction Machines.

Konferenzveröffentlichung, Bibliographie
Kurzbeschreibung (Abstract)
This paper deals with the modelling by finite elements of a particular phenomenon in inverter-fed induction machines. A fast-switching inverter introduces a common-mode voltage at higher frequencies which leads to a capacitive coupling between stator windings and stator laminations. As a consequence, a current path arises which closes through the winding isolation, stator lamination and housing. The common-mode flux coupled to this current gives rise to secondary phenomena such as e.g. circulating bearing currents which may damage the drive.
