Kurzbeschreibung (Abstract)
The value stream method is a tool to improve production processes and to achieve a continuous material flow. It traditionally relies on subjective, snapshot data from an on-site inspection. This leads to uncertainty and incorrect decisions during improvement of production. The digital twin concept enhances this by systematically capturing and integrating data, overcoming these limitations. However, due to heterogeneous IT systems and complex value streams, a universally applicable implementation method is required. Therefore, this paper develops a method to implement digital twin in production, considering value stream characteristics, and evaluates the method through an industrial use case.
