Kurzbeschreibung (Abstract)

The hybrid electromagnetic (EMT) and root-mean square (RMS) simulation is an effective simulation method for investigating the dynamic performance of a hybrid AC/DC transmission system. This work presents a flexible combined EMT and RMS simulation framework, including a RMS-type simulation framework based on a unified fault matrix method for AC networks. Both symmetrical and unsymmetrical short circuits can be simulated in the AC network just through selecting the corresponding fault matrix. The comprehensive simulation framework is developed using MATLAB/Simulink, with each component meticulously modelled using matrices or Simulink blocks. Notably, no masks are used in the implementation, allowing the reader to gain a deep understanding of the framework and facilitating future development efforts. Throughout this work, power system engineers and researchers are enabled to model their hybrid AC/DC transmission systems in own ways in the future.
