Kurzbeschreibung (Abstract)

Skynet is an open source hardware and software development which aids users of a life science robotic platform in loading the correct labware at the correct position. Such platforms are for example used in biological screening efforts or in synthetic biology to genetically engineer and characterize biological systems. The laser guided system is built from off-the-shelf and 3D printed components. It consists of a two axis kinematic which allows a laser pointer to mark a position and a software script to enable organization of saved positions and correlation of them with labware required for workflows. Skynet enabled users with no prior experience to load labware for a complex workflow onto the robotic platform without error.
