Kurzbeschreibung (Abstract)
This study investigates the frequency distributions of the inflectional affixes of the Old English noun paradigms. Counting and sorting these affixes and word forms leads to unordered integer partitions, which show typical diver-sification effects. Moreover, the distribution of the numbers of different affixes across the inflectional paradigms can be deduced from an urn model. For these frequency classes, the 3-displaced Hyperpoisson distribution yields excellent fits. The investigation shows results which are similar to former investigations on German and Icelandic noun paradigms.
