Abstract
Automated processing of pre-fabricated elastomer thin films is a very promising way to produce multi-layered, large dielectric elastomer stack actuators. During the processing, stress is easily introduced into the material, which causes the foil to wrinkle and encases air between the stacked layers of the actuator. We investigate corona treatment as possible mean to prevent or eventually correct the formation of wrinkling and air bubbles. The work focuses on the optimization of the electrode layout necessary to produce the corona.
