Attacking AES via Solving Systems in the Key Variables Only.

Abstract
This work is devoted to attacking the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) via systems that contain only the key variables. To this end, we introduce an iterative system of equations that naturally arises in the AES, and then eliminate all the intermediate variables. We also discuss a possibility to work with smaller systems with a trade-off being the number of systems to be considered.
