Abstract

Based on the results of and experience gathered during several national and international training and teaching projects, this paper addresses key issues in the design, realisation and usage of a Telematics based training environment for the future. First upcoming requirements for training environments are identified. Then, after introducing IDEALS, we present the IDEALS pilot scenarios and crucial architectural issues. Derived from the presented an estimation of the expected efficiency trade-off in courseware production is given.
