Smarte Integration von JT in die generative Fertigung - Ein Use Case für das 3D Drucken.
ProSTEP iViP Symposium 2015. Stuttgart (05.-06. Mai 2015)
Konferenzveröffentlichung, Bibliographie

Kurzbeschreibung (Abstract)

The performant data format JT (ISO 14306:2012) plays a major role in today’s product development. A neutral description and small file sizes pave the way for an efficient visualization of 3D product data, the application as product data exchange format as well as common base for collaborative engineering. Due to the increasing importance of JT as PLM backbone, use cases have been developed, e.g. for supplier integration, design in context and manufacturing planning. This contribution discusses the most promising current JT use cases. A new approach for the integration of JT in additive manufacturing will be introduced with focus on the development and validation of a JT use case for 3D printing. The proposed JT use case enables a process automation for 3D printing and the use of mobile devices for controlling and monitoring of 3D printing processes based on web services. The contribution also contains a classification of additive manufacturing processes, a comparison of respective manufacturing machines and an evaluation of commonly used data formats for additive manufacturing in comparison to JT. Benefits of using JT in additive manufacturing and further innovation potentials will be demonstrated as well as future fields of research for the integration of JT in new business areas.
