Abstract

Magnetic behavior of amorphous a-Fe2Sc, prepared by mechanical ball milling, was studied by Mössbauer spectroscopy and ac susceptibility. A magnetic ordering temperature of 260 K was obtained from these measurements. The 4.2 K Mössbauer spectra under external magnetic field show that the a-Fe2Sc alloy exhibits a ferromagnetic character with small magnetic anisotropy.
