Claus, Peter and Bienholz, Arne (2011):
Catalyst for hydrogenating aqueous multivalent alcohol solutions.
WO 2011128367 A1,
[Standards, patents]
Abstract
The invention relates to a catalyst for hydrogenating glycerol to form 1,2-propanediol. Water resistance was achieved by the use of gallium in the catalyst. Aqueous glycerol solutions can now be hydrogenated to form 1,2-propanediol without prior drying.
