Abstract

This paper presents a quasi-static solution for the mechanically coupled diffusion problem in a Lithium-ion battery thin film electrode during charge. The concentration field and the stresses are calculated under the assumption of a constant flux. The influence of the electrode's stiffness, its thickness, and of the current density on the results are discussed.
