Abstract

An analysis is developed for the governing equations of steady magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flows of an Oldroyd 8-constant electrically conducting fluid in a porous medium. The nonlinear differential equation for one-dimensional MHD steady flows is solved using a transformation method. Three nonlinear boundary value problems are then solved numerically. The effects of the material parameters, pressure gradients, exerted magnetic field, and the permeability of the porous medium on the velocity distribution are discussed.
